COLCHESTER, Vt. – Bentley exploded for 10 goals in a dominating victory over Saint Michael's on Wednesday night, 10-1 for its third straight victory.
Madeline Krepelka had a hat trick and two assists to lead the way.
Sophie Manchester had the first two goals of her NCAA career and five other players scored.
It took about seven minutes to get going but once they did, Bentley began to pour it on with four goals over the last eight minutes of the opening quarter.
Krepelka scored the first goal at 6:58 and was followed by
Gracie Moore scoring, who was named the NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week on Wednesday.
Two freshmen then scored their first career goals, Manchester and
Emily Spadorcia to make it a 4-0 lead.
Saint Michael's scored early in the second quarter to break the run, but Bentley scored three in a row before halftime, with
Layla Conway,
Lilly Cook and Krepelka scoring.
Eveline Ronzoni began the second half with her first career goal to make it an 8-1 game.
Krepelka completed her hat trick late in the third quarter and Manchester netted the game's last goal in the fourth frame.
The 10 goals are among the most ever in a single game in school history. The record is 12 on two different occasions.
Winners of three in a row, Bentley next plays on Saturday at Mercy.
