WALTHAM, Mass. – Joe Carroll had a perfect night shooting the ball when he scored 12 points off the bench in the Bentley men's basketball team's 67-60 victory over Franklin Pierce Saturday afternoon.
Carroll shot 4-for-4 form the floor, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, and he made his one free-throw attempt for Bentley (9-5, 2-3 NE10).
Cash McClure scored 16 points in the win, and
Ivan Misic finished with 14 points and seven boards.
Misic connected on a 3-pointer in the game's first 13 seconds, and Bentley held a lead for the rest of the first half.
Jordan Elliott hit a trey for a 14-2 Falcon lead less than four minutes into the game. Bentley's lead was 34-23 at halftime, but the Ravens (4-11, 0-5 NE10) had plenty of fight left.
Midway through the second half, Franklin Pierce hit a 3-pointer that cut Bentley's advantage to one possession, 45-42. Five minutes later, the Ravens evened the score at 56-56.
McClure hit a jump shot to put Bentley back up by two points, but the Ravens answered back with two points of their own. McClure was true again with a pull-up jumper in the paint, giving Bentley a 60-58 lead with 2:55 on the clock.
Following a turnover by the Ravens, Carroll hit a 3-pointer to make it a five-point game, 63-58, with two minutes left. Following another Bentley stop, McClure scored again the paint, effectively putting the game out of reach for Franklin Pierce.
