Bentley women's basketball hosts AIC for midweek NE10 action

Cassidy Yeomans
WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 24 Bentley women's basketball team prepares for a midweek Northeast 10 home game when it hosts American International Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m. The contest is Bentley's annual Pride Game.

The firsts for Armbrister
After recording her first-career double-double, Kayana Armbrister earned her first-career NE10 Player of the Week honor. She scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds during Bentley's win at Saint Anselm (Jan. 7). Over her past four games, Armbrister is averaging 19.3 points and 8.8 rebounds to go with a 59.3 field-goal percentage for the Falcons (9-2, 5-0 NE10). She scored a career-high 29 points against Daemen on New Year's Day.

The Bryant breakout
Freshman Cherish Bryant had a breakout game in a win over Southern Connecticut (Jan. 4), scoring a season-high 14 points while shooting 6-for-10 from the floor. Over her past three games, Bryant is shooting 63.6-percent (14-for-22) from the floor.

The Niya bounce back
Junior Niya Morgen started the 2026 calendar year with an uncharacteristically poor shooting performance, going 1-for-6 from the floor and 0-5 from the 3-point range against Daemen (Jan. 1). In the three games since then, however, Morgen is shooting 65.4-percent (17-for-26) form the floor, and 58.3-percent (7-for-12) from beyond the arc. She is Bentley's leading scorer this season, averaging 14.9 points per game. She ranks sixth in the conference for scoring, and she leads all NE10 players in field-goal percentage (min. 100 attempts) with a 52.7-percent mark.

A league of their own
Bentley's 47.2 field-goal percentage far and away leads the NE10. Southern Connecticut and Saint Anselm are tied for second with a 41.5 field-goal percentage.

The Yellow Jackets' scoring offense (70.7) ranks third in the NE10. AIC enters Wednesday's game with consecutive wins over Assumption (Jan. 10) and Franklin Pierce (Jan. 7), bouncing back from its loss at Southern New Hampshire (Jan. 4).
