Men's basketball returns to NE10 slate by hosting Southern Connecticut Sunday

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's basketball team carries a four-game winning streak into its return to its Northeast 10 schedule at home against Southern Connecticut Sunday, Jan. 4. Tipoff is set for 3:30 p.m.

Momentum into NE10
After losing two of its first three games of the season, Bentley is victorious in seven of its last eight games – including four straight wins. Six of those seven wins were decided by double digits. During that seven-game stretch, Bentley claimed conference wins against Assumption and Southern New Hampshire. The Falcons' last four games were against non-conference opponents. The rest of the regular-season schedule is solely NE10 games.

Cash climbs the ladder
With a 19-point effort in Bentley's New Year's Eve win over St. Thomas Aquinas, Cash McClure surpassed five Falcons on the all-time scoring list. He entered the game tied with Mike Quinn '11 for 48th all-time with 1,062 points. McClure now stands alone as the program's 44th all-time leading scorer with 1,081 points. Earlier this season, McClure became the 59th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points.

Double-double machine
Cooper Farrall notched his third consecutive double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds against St. Thomas Aquinas. The junior has six double-doubles this season, after totaling nine during his sophomore campaign. Farrall ranks sixth in the NE10 for scoring (16.4) and fourth in rebounding (9.3).

Always ready
Sophomore Mantas Zilys has played exclusively off the bench this season, and he has been thriving in the role. Zilys is averaging 11.1 points per game while shooting 48.5-percent from 3-point range. He recently shot 4-for-5 from distance against St. Thomas Aquinas, totaling 14 points in the win. Zilys has scored in double figures seven times this season, including a high of 19 against Post (Dec. 16).

Hold the line
Bentley's 80.3 free-throw percentage ranks second in the NE10 and sixth in the nation. Cash McClure (90.0-percent), Ivan Misic (88.0-percent), and Mantas Zilys (88.0-percent) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in the NE10 for free-throw shooting.

Scouting Southern Connecticut (5-4, 1-0 NE10)
The Owls enter Sunday's game fresh off a 79-76 win at Mercy Friday night. Justice Ellison led SCSU to victory with 22 points, and 10 rebounds. Charif Diarra had 16 points and 18 rebounds in the win. Ellison is averaging 18.2 points per game this season, which ranks fourth in the NE10. Diarra is the conference's second-leading rebounder with 9.6 boards per game. SCSU averages the second-most turnovers (14.1) in the NE10.
