WALTHAM, Mass. – Four players scored in double figures as Bentley women's basketball defeated Southern Connecticut State 75-62 in the first Northeast 10 game of 2026 on Sunday afternoon.
Niya Morgen had a team-high 17 points, while adding seven rebounds and three assists.
Cherish Bryant (14 points),
Cassidy Yeomans and
Kayana Armbrister (13 each) also scored in doubles.
The Falcons bounced back from a rare defeat on New Year's Day to improve to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in the NE10.
Bentley trailed by two at halftime, 36-34, but outscored the Owls 41-26 in the second half. They did most of that damage in the third quarter where they outscored Southern Conn 27-12.
In that quarter, Bentley shot 68.8 percent as a team (11-16) and 5-8 from three.
Yeomans had 10 points in the third frame on 4-5 shooting.
Bentley's longest scoring run of the quarter was nine, turning a 40-39 deficit into a 48-40 lead. Each of the baskets were three pointers, coming from Armbrister, Yeomans and Morgen.
Leading by 13 at the start of the fourth quarter, Morgen and Yeomans nailed three pointers to open up a 69-50 lead 2:09 into the quarter. Later in the period, two straight baskets by
Brennan Doran and Armbrister gave Bentley a 73-52 lead, its largest of the game at 21 points.
Armbrister hauled in a game-high nine rebounds and Bryant and
Julia Elie shared the game-high in assists with four each.
Bentley will next play on Wednesday night at Saint Anselm. Game time is 5:30 pm.
