WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley volleyball team produced its most efficient attack of the season when it beat Pace, 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-20), in the Dana Athletics Center Saturday afternoon. It was the Falcons' 13
th consecutive win, 39
th consecutive win against in-region teams, and 14
th consecutive win against Pace. The latter streak started in 2012.
The Falcons (14-6, 3-0 NE10) hit .398 against Pace (7-8, 2-1 NE10), a season-high mark for Bentley.
Sophia Poehlein led the attack with 15 kills (.429), and
Lulu Pavan posted a career-best .846 hitting percentage while totaling 11 kills. The Bentley record (min. 10 attempts) for best hitting percentage in a match is 1.000, achieved by Kris Kane (10-0-10) against St. Rose in 1996.
Makayla Kuykendall served up a season-high four aces against Pace. Bentley's 13 aces Saturday were the second most in a three-set match this season. Five Falcons had multiple aces against the Setters.
The Falcons trailed the Setters in only two brief instances. Pace had a 1-0 lead in the first set, and it had 2-0 lead in the third set.
Bentley's next match is at Southern Connecticut, Oct. 16, at 5 p.m.
