No. 19 Bentley hosts Pace as Falcons aim to hold on to first place in the NE10

Mikela Cooper
WALTHAM, Mass. – Following a big Senior Day win, the No. 19 Bentley women's basketball team is back at home to host Pace Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 5:30 p.m. It is the Falcons' Think Pink game.

Senior Day triumph
Bentley's Senior Day culminated with a 68-46 win over Assumption (Feb. 14). All five seniors were in the starting lineup for the Falcons: Cassidy Yeomans, Julia Elie, Quincy Ji, Mikela Cooper, Andrene Thomas.

A first for Morgen
Niya Morgen notched her first career double-double against Assumption (Feb. 14), totaling 10 points and 10 boards. She is Bentley's leading scorer this season, and her 14.1 scoring average ranks eighth in the NE10.

Sophomore slump buster
Sophomore Brennan Doran has been on a tear the past three games. She is averaging 13.3 points during that stretch, while shooting 68.2-percent from the floor and 88.9-percent from the free-throw line. Doran net a career-high 19 points against American International (Feb. 11).

Conference landscape
Bentley (18-3, 14-1 NE10) is in first place in the NE10. The Falcons have a one-game lead over Southern Connecticut (18-5, 13-2 NE10). Assumption (17-6, 9-6 NE10) is tied for third place with American International (15-8, 9-6 NE10). All other conference teams are below .500 in NE10 games.

Draining shots

Bentley's 44.4 field-goal percentage leads the NE10. All other conference teams are shooting below 42.0-percent. Kayana Armbrister (49.0-percent) ranks fourth in the NE10 for field-goal percentage, Julia Elie (48.7-percent) ranks fifth, and Cherish Bryant (46.9-percent) is seventh.

Keeping Pace
The Falcons won a nail-biter at Pace, 50-49, earlier this season (Jan. 21). Niya Morgen led all players in scoring with 14 points, and Julia Elie grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

Scouting Pace (6-18, 2-13 NE10)
The Setters enter this week with nine consecutive losses. The team's 55.2 scoring average ranks second to last in the NE10, but its 75.3 free-throw percentage leads the conference. Ciara Collins is the NE10's third-leading scorer, as she averages 16.5 points per game. Anisa Akinola ranks among the conference's top 10 in rebounding – she averages 6.6 boards per game.
