WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshman goalie
Lukas Swedin was named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after helping Bentley clinch the AHA regular season championship.
Swedin made 29 saves in Bentley's 4-3 win over RIT on Friday, which clinched the first AHA regular season title in program history.
Swedin made 16 saves in the third period as the Falcons closed out the game, and just one of the goals allowed was in five-on-five play.
This is his third AHA weekly award of the season. He has been the Goalie of the Week twice, on December 2 and January 13. He was also the Rookie of the Month for November.
On the season, Swedin has a 9-5-4 record with a .917 save percentage and 2.30 goals against average.
Bentley next faces Air Force this weekend at home in the final series of the regular season.
