WALTHAM, Mass. – A new era of Bentley softball begins this weekend when the Falcons head to Florida for six games. Bentley takes on Barry and East Stroudsburg Friday (Feb. 6), followed by a doubleheader at Nova Southeastern Saturday (Feb. 7). The weekend concludes with games against Barry and Saginaw Valley State Sunday (Feb. 8).

Brook Capello embarks on her first season as Bentley's head coach. She spent the previous 10 seasons as head coach at Simmons, a Division-III program in Boston.

Capello inherits a Bentley program that has earned an NCAA Championship bid in two of the past three seasons. The 2025 NCAA run included a couple of wins over D'Youville and Saint Thomas Aquinas. Key returners from last year's squad includes six players who earned All-Northeast 10 honors.

Shortstop
Bella Burke was named to the All-NE10 Second Team during her rookie season. She finished the year with a .311 batting average, and scored a team-high 34 runs. Fellow classmate
Maddie Baker was named to the All-NE10 Third Team in 2025. The catcher hit .304 with 12 doubles.

Junior outfielder
Jess Morrison had a breakout sophomore season on her way to garnering All-NE10 Third Team. She hit .323 with a .474 slugging percentage, both of which ranked second on the team.

Outfielder
Carly DiMento and third baseman
Becca Harris joined Burke and Baker on the NE10 All-Rookie Team. Harris hit .288 in 38 games, while DiMento's elite speed stood out in center field and on the basepaths. DiMento led the team in stolen bases with seven in eight attempts.

Bentley's outstanding young core doesn't stop there.

Maddie Pickett was exceptional in the circle as a freshman in 2025. She posted a 3.59 ERA in 95.2 innings. She walked only 27 batters for the season, which comes out to fewer than two walks per seven innings pitched.

Hailey Feiler was chosen to the All-Defensive Team in 2025. As a sophomore, she had a .992 fielding percentage and made 229 putouts, to go along with 10 assists and five double plays turned.

The Falcon program adds on to its young core by welcoming six freshmen to the team this year.

Following this weekend, Bentley makes a return to the Sunshine State at the Space Coast Complex in Melbourne, March 7-12. Over the course of six days, the Falcons will play against Bridgeport, Saginaw Valley, West Chester, Bemidji State, Goldey-Beacom, Felician, and Saint Thomas Aquinas.
