PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pat Heber threw eight shutout innings to lead the No. 30 Bentley baseball team to its fifth consecutive win with a 6-0 triumph at Pace Friday evening.
Heber struck out seven batters while yielding just three hits and two walks. Through his last three appearances, Heber has a 3.32 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 19.0 innings.
Stan DeMartinis III continued to build on his Northeast 10 lead for home runs. His 12
th homer of the season was a two-run shot in the third inning. No other conference player has more than eight home runs this season.
Brendan Sencaj and
David VanderZouwen both hit RBI singles in the sixth inning.
Tommy Goonan laid down a bunt for a hit that scored Sencaj in the eighth inning.
The Falcons (16-6, 7-1 NE10) and Setters (9-10, 4-4 NE10) have a doubleheader Saturday, March 27, starting at 12 p.m.
