Jake Maydak hit his first-career home run, and freshman
Caleb Allen improved to 4-0 as the Bentley baseball team beat Assumption, 12-4, Tuesday afternoon.
Maydak's two-run blast broke a scoreless game in the third inning.
Tommy Goonan was on base after getting hit by a pitch.
Allen allowed only run in his six-inning start for Bentley (19-7, 11-2 NE10). He surrendered five hits and struck out three batters.
Maydak wasn't the only Falcon to go yard against Assumption (7-16, 3-10 NE10).
Nick Pappas belted a two-run homer in the third inning. It was his fifth home run of the season.
Pappas also hit a two-run single in the fifth inning that put the Falcons up 11-0. Heath, like Pappas, had a two-run base hit as part of a seven-run fifth inning.
Pappas and Maydak both went 3-for-4 in the game. Pappas drove in four runs, and Maydak drove in three.
Bentley next hosts Southern Connecticut for a four-game series, April 3-4.
