WALTHAM, Mass. – Shortly following a big series result against Adelphi, the Bentley softball team prepares for six home games this week. The Falcons host Southern New Hampshire for two games Wednesday, April 22, starting at 2:30 p.m. Bentley then welcomes Southern Connecticut to Waltham for four games, April 25-26. Wednesday marks Bentley's Morgan's Message games.

Taming the Panthers
Bentley split a four-game series with Adelphi in Waltham this past weekend (April 17-18). The Panthers entered the series in first place in the Northeast 10, holding a 20-2 conference record before adding two more conference losses thanks to Bentley.

From Tay to Z
Taylor Zajac was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week Monday (April 20). She earned two complete-game victories against Adelphi, allowing just one earned run through 14.0 innings (0.50 ERA). Among all NE10 pitchers with at least 80.0 IP this season, Zajac's 3.29 ERA ranks fourth.

Hunting season
Carly DiMento has excelled at hunting her pitch the past few weeks. Over her last nine games, DiMento is hitting .429 with two home runs and nine RBI. That stretch includes a grand slam at Assumption (April 14).

Not intimidated
Adelphi entered last weekend's series among the conference leaders for team ERA, but several Falcons feasted, nonetheless.
Becca Harris hit .636 (7-for-11) against Adelphi, and
Bella Burke hit .600 (6-for-10) with three doubles and five runs scored in the series.
Michelle Diaz hit .500 (5-for-10) for the weekend.

The bounce back      Â
Sophie Jorjorian got roughed up in her start against Adelphi, lasting just one inning while allowing four earned runs (April 17). She pitched in relief the following day, working 4.2 shutout innings while yielding only four hits. Through her last four appearances, Jorjorian has a 1.42 ERA.

Scouting Southern New Hampshire (22-16, 14-10 NE10)
Southern New Hampshire's 2.36 team ERA leads the NE10, as does its 254 strikeouts. Sophie Rousell (1.65 ERA) and Julianna Colbert (1.76) have the top two ERAs in the conference. Colbert's 160 strikeouts top the conference. As a team, SNHU is hitting .272 with nine home runs. Kaysie Demoura has a team-leading .357 batting average.

Scouting Southern Connecticut (18-18, 11-5 NE10)
As a team, the Owls have the second-best batting average in the NE10 (.304). Sophia Angiolini's .394 batting average ranks seventh in the conference. Gianna Iaquinto has for home runs, which is tied for the fourth most in the NE10. Her 28 RBI rank sixth. In the circle, Ashley Lewis has a 7-7 record with a 3.39 ERA.
