WALTHAM, Mass. - No. 19 nationally ranked Bentley battled to a 1-1 draw at home against Georgian Court in the 2026 opener on Thursday afternoon.
A 48th minute goal by newcomer Filippo Perini, a graduate transfer central defender from Italy, gave the Falcons a 1-0 lead. However Georgian Court tied it just over one minute later on a goal by Noah-Maxim Kleiser after a break down the other end of the pitch.
Perini's goal came on a header off a corner kick that was sent in by
Logan Veloria, who had the assist.
Bentley had the best chance of either team to score the go-ahead goal. In the 89th minute a shot on target by graduate transfer
Antonio Di Gaudio was turned away by GCU keeper Simon Mortensen.
The Falcons ended the match with a 7-3 edge in shots on goal and a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.
Bentley will next play on Saturday at 2:30 when they host Caldwell as part of their season opening tournament.
