GARDEN CITY, N.Y. –
Owen MacKinnon scored in the 68
th minute to lift Bentley men's soccer to a 1-0 win at Adelphi in the first Northeast 10 match of the season.
The build up to the goal featured a run by
Logan Veloria towards Adelphi's goal and a pass to
Gamaliel Ortiz Rivas making a run down the left wing. Rivas sent a cross into the box that
Kevi Sulollari got his head on. MacKinnon then volleyed Sulollari's header and fired a shot across the goal to beat the Adelphi keeper.
Bentley allowed just one shot over the final 22-plus minutes, saved by keeper
Jake Moulton, to secure the win.
Moulton made four saves on the day for the shutout and his first career win.
The Falcons had a 12-9 edge in total shots and 7-4 in corner kicks.
They improved to 3-2-2 on the season. The next match is on Wednesday at home against Assumption at 3:00 pm.
