Women's Soccer Wins at New Haven, 2-0

Box Score

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Bentley women's soccer earned three Northeast-10 points with a 2-0 road victory over New Haven on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Jillian Hendriksen scored with a header off a corner kick in the 29th minute and a late own goal by the Chargers in the 90th minute sealed the three points for the Falcons.

Hendriksen's goal came off a corner kick sent in by senior Ryenne Feeney from the right corner. Feeney's kick found Hendriksen open on the edge of the six-yard box and she connected with it to send a bullet header into the back of the net.

The second goal came off a Bentley throw-in in its attacking zone. Bridget Gleason gained possession after the throw and after she maneuvered around a New Haven defender, she sent a cross into the six-yard box that Gabby Vachon and a Chargers defender got to at the same time. Vachon's presence caused the ball to bounce off the Chargers player for the goal.

Falcons goalkeeper Claire Ewen made three saves for her second straight shutout.

Bentley improved to 2-1-3 with the win and 1-0-1 in the NE10.
