Bentley thumps Mercy, 18-2; Falcons go 4-0 in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Four Falcons totaled three hits apiece to lead the Bentley baseball team to an 18-2 merciless win over Mercy Sunday at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Jackson Walonis, Brian Lindsay, and Brendan Sencaj each went 3-fo-5 at the plate, and Joe Cacciatore finished 3-for-6. Sencaj hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning – his second of the season.

Marc Cedrone earned the win on the mound, allowing just two earned runs through five innings in his second start of the season.

The Falcons rallied for eight runs in the second inning and never looked back. The big inning included a two-run double by Lindsay, and RBI base hits by Cacciatore and Sencaj.

The 18 runs are the most in a game for Bentley since a 19-7 win over St. Michael's in May 2023.

Bentley concludes its road trip by winning all four games and scoring 53 runs in the process.

The Falcons make their 2024 Waltham debut with a doubleheader against St. Michael's Saturday, March 2.
