RINDGE, N.H. – Eddy Beauregard crushed his seventh home run of the season, but the #3 Bentley baseball team lost a heartbreaking Northeast-10 Championship first-round game at #2 Franklin Pierce, 8-6, in 10 innings Tuesday night.

The Ravens jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but Bentley rallied to take the lead in the top of the third. Jackson Walonis led off the frame by reaching base on an error, the bases were quickly loaded with nobody out following consecutive walks to Brian Lindsay and Nick Pappas.

Cory Bright drove in Bentley's first run by hitting into a fielder's choice. Two batters later, with two runners run, Beauregard cleared the fences to give Bentley a 4-3 lead.

The Ravens answered right back with two runs in the bottom of the frame, but the Falcons reclaimed the lead in the sixth inning. Beauregard hit a one-out single and then reached third base on a double by Tim Zupkus. The next batter – Tyler Gonzalez – singled to centerfield to score Beauregard. Brendan Sencaj plated the go-ahead run with a groundout that allowed Zupkus to touch home plate.

Franklin Pierce tied the game in the seventh inning, ultimately sending the postseason contest into extras.

The Falcons loaded the bases with two outs in the ninth inning. Walonis reached on an error, and Pappas and Bright were both hit by a pitch. However, Bentley was unable to come up with the clutch two-out hit.
