Box Score WALTHAM, Mass. – Freshmen Kendra Foley and Sydney DeRoche each scored in their first NCAA games to help Bentley down Wilmington 2-0 in the season opener on Thursday.


Foley scored just 30 seconds before halftime to give Bentley a 1-0 lead. She made a late run into the penalty area and shot home a cross that came from the left wing.

In the 53^rd minute DeRoche, who nearly scored in the first half only to be denied by the Wilmington keeper, gave the Falcons a 2-0 lead.

Sydney O'Connor played a long ball from midfield into the 18 yard box that DeRoche got on the end of, and a shot from close range beat the Wilmington keeper for the goal.

Claire Ewen made three saves to earn the win in goal.

Bentley will look to make it a 2-0 start to the season on Saturday when they host Molloy in the second game of the Kickoff Tournament.
