Output on Both Ends Sees Gouvin Named NE10 Defensive Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Two strong performances on both ends of the pitch saw Bentley's Michael Gouvin named the Northeast 10 Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The Falcons' right back, Gouvin combined for one goal and two assists in wins over No. 2 ranked Southern New Hampshire and Saint Michael's.

His defensive efforts helped the Falcons limit their opponents to just one goal in each game. SNHU came in averaging two goals per game and the Purple Knights only scored with 28 seconds left in Saturday's 4-1 victory.

Gauvin, from Monson, Massachusetts, played 81 minutes against SNHU and 83 against Saint Michael's.

The two wins advanced Bentley's records to 7-1-1 overall and 5-0 NE10. They are the only team in the NE10 to not drop points in a conference match so far and they have a two-point lead atop the standings.

On the season Gauvin's five assists are tied for the NE10 lead.

Bentley is back at home on Tuesday when they host Assumption at 3:00 pm.
