WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley field hockey closes out the regular season this week with two home games against Franklin Pierce on Tuesday and Pace on Saturday.
Tuesday's game against the Ravens gets underway at 6:00 pm and Saturday's game against the Setters begins at 1:00 pm.
Bentley comes into Tuesday's game in a three-way tie for third place in the NE10 standings, at 8-2 and tied with Southern New Hampshire and Adelphi. But they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over both teams, thanks to a 3-2 win over the Penmen on September 30 and a 2-1 victory over the Panthers on October 11.
The NE10 Championship begins with the quarterfinals on November 4 and the top four seeds all host.
The Falcons were last in action on October 22 when they suffered a tough defeat to #9 Saint Anselm 1-0 in overtime. In that game,
Avery Frommer made four defensive saves.
Home field has been good to Bentley this season. In six NE10 games at home, they are 6-0 and have outscored teams 32-3. They have won seven in a row at home overall.
Entering the final week of the regular season, the Falcons are third in the NE10 in goals per game at 3.38.
Gracie Moore leads the NE10 with nine assists and she is T-4
th with 10 goals.
McKenzie Carey is T-7
th in goals with nine.
Frommer is T-3
rd in defensive saves with seven.
Franklin Pierce comes in at 6-8 overall and 5-5 in the NE10, which has them holding on to one of the final playoff spots. Their most recent game was a 3-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday.
Pace is 7-9 overall and 6-4 in the NE10 and in sole possession of sixth place. They play at Southern Connecticut on Tuesday night before traveling to Waltham for Saturday's game.
