WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley Athletics placed the most recipients for the Northeast-10 Sport Excellence Award from the winter season, the NE10 announced Thursday. Per the NE10, "the Sport Excellence Award is given to one top individual from each of the league's seven winter sports."

Maggie Whitmore (Women's Basketball)
Maggie Whitmore earned an All-American nod from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), she was named to the All-NE10 First Team. Whitmore helped to lead Bentley to its fourth consecutive NE10 Tournament title, and the Falcons reached the NCAA D-II Elite 8 for the first time since 2016. This is Whitmore's second consecutive year as the women's basketball recipient for the NE10 Sport Excellence Award. She has a 4.00 GPA while completing her MBA.

Caitlin Burmester (Women's Indoor Track & Field)
Caitlin Burmester was the NE10 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Track Athlete of the Year. She won gold medals in both he 800-m and 1-mile. Burmester earned All-Region honors in three events from the USTFCCCA: 800-m, 1-mile, 3,000-m. The senior has a 3.95 GPA while majoring in accounting and liberal studies.

Sam Capobianco (Men's Indoor Track & Field)
Sam Capobianco won four medals in the NE10 Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship. He was a gold medalist in the 4x800-m relay and the distance medley relay. He took silver in the 1-mile and 3,000-m. Capobianco earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors in the 3,000-m, 5,000-m, 1-mile, and distance medley relay. The senior has a 3.88 GPA while majoring in finance.Â
