WALTHAM, Mass. – Former Bentley University women's basketball standout
Bri Fecteau '01 will be inducted into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame August 10 during ceremonies at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.
Fecteau, a three-year Falcon captain, is one of only two players in program history with career totals exceeding 1200 points and 500 points. The Westbrook, Maine native is tied for the most games played in Bentley history (135) and is third in Falcon annals in assists (573).
The Falcons reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight during each of her first three seasons, with records of 27-7, 30-2 and 32-3. A preseason knee injury ended her 1999-2000 season before it got underway, but she came back the following season to help Bentley to a 31-3 record.
Bentley was 147-19 during Fecteau's five years on the team, including 120-15 during the four seasons she played. That included an amazing 76-2 in regular season conference games.
Honors included WBCA Division II All-Northeast Region as a junior, WBCA Division II honorable mention that same season and three-time All-Northeast-10. As a freshman, she was the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Most Outstanding Player.
Fecteau led Westbrook High to three consecutive appearances in the state championship game, played professional basketball in Holland, was an assistant coach at Harvard for nine seasons and was the head coach at Stevens Institute of Technology for two years. Her record with the Ducks was 35-21 from 2010-12.
