WALTHAM, Mass. – The No. 18 Bentley women's basketball team begins the thick of its Northeast 10 schedule by hosting Southern Connecticut Sunday, Jan. 4, at 1:30 p.m. The rest of the Falcons' regular-season slate consists of only NE10 games.

Kayana Armbrister had a breakout game New Year's day against Daemen. She scored a career-high 29 points while shooting 12-for-16 from the floor. Armbrister added nine rebounds and a couple of steals to her big day. Armbrister is averaging 11.4 points and shooting 48.1-percent from the floor this season.

Senior center
Julia Elie has scored in double figures in each of the past three games, including a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) against Holy Family (Dec. 21). Elie is averaging 9.4 points per game so far this season.

Following Bentley's New Year's day loss against Daemen,
Julia Elie said "We need to learn from this. We can't let it happen again." The Falcons committed 23 turnovers and shot 7-for-17 from the free-throw line against the Wildcats.

Bentley is the only NE10 shooting better than 44.0-percent from the floor this season (45.8-percent).
Julia Elie's 57.1 field-goal percentage leads the NE10, while
Niya Morgen ranks fifth at 48.8-percent.
Kayana Armbrister's 48.1 field-goal percentage is good for seventh in the NE10.

Despite the result against Daemen, Bentley remains one of the best teams in the NE10 at taking care of the ball. The Falcons average 15.1 turnovers per game, which stands as the second-best mark in the conference (Saint Anselm, 14.0).

The Owls are the highest-scoring team in the NE10, averaging 75.7 points per game. They rank second in both field-goal percentage (43.2) and 3-point percentage (34.2). Rheyna Steinauer is the conference's second-leading scorer, averaging 15.9 points per game. Jillian Martin runs the Owls' dangerous offense, as her 5.1 assists per game ranks second in the NE10. Among common opponents with Bentley, SCSU has wins over Georgian Court (104-59), Mercy (70-56), and Molloy (79-50). The Owls have losses against American International (69-68) and St. Michael's (86-68).
