WALTHAM, Mass. – Four Bentley hockey players earned All-Atlantic Hockey honors, the conference announced on Wednesday.
Jake Black was named a first team forward,
Stephen Castagna a second team forward,
Jack Dalton a third team defenseman and goaltender
Lukas Swedin was voted to the All-Rookie team.
Black had 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points in the regular season, leading the team in each category. He had a monster month of January where he led the nation with 17 points and was named the national Forward of the Month. During the regular season he was a two-time AHA Forward of the Week.
Black ended the regular season second in the AHA in points and third in goals.
Castagna, the team captain, notched 11 goals and 17 assists for 28 points in the regular season, ranking second on the team in each category. He set career highs for goals and points in a season and is just three points away from the 100 career points milestone. Castagna is also three games away from being fourth all-time in school history in games played.
Dalton led all Bentley defensemen with 17 points, coming on two goals and 15 assists. He was third on the team in assists overall. Dalton was named the AHA Defenseman of the Week on February 13.
Swedin started 19 games in the regular season and posted a 9-6-4 record, with a .917 save percentage and 2.29 goals against average. He was a two-time AHA Goalie of the Week, one-time Rookie of the Week and the Rookie of the Month for November. Swedin currently ranks 13
th nationally in GAA.
The quartet helped lead the Falcons to the first AHA regular season championship in program history. After eliminating Mercyhurst in the quarterfinals last weekend, they host Holy Cross in the semifinals this weekend.
