WALTHAM, Mass. – A rematch of the 2025 NCAA DII East Regional Volleyball Championship is set for Thursday, Sept. 17, when Bentley heads to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. for a 6 p.m. bout at Mercy.

Last year the Falcons won their third consecutive regional title by toppling Mercy in three sets in Waltham. Sophia Poehlein had a match-high 14 kills in the championship match, while Tory Vitko tallied 38 assists. Bentley attacked at a .327 clip for the win.

This year's Falcons (6-6) are just hitting their stride as they prepare for the undefeated Mavericks (8-0). Bentley is riding a five-match winning streak, including four wins in the East Region Clash hosted by American International (Sept. 11-12).

Middle blocker Aaliyah Price Gooden was recently named the Northeast 10 Rookie of the Week (Sept. 14). She had a season-high 11 kills against Bridgeport (Sept. 11), and she matched her season high in blocks with seven against D'Youville (Sept. 12).

Gooden isn't the only Falcon freshman standing out. Makayla Kuykendall ranks second on the team in digs per set (2.04), and Yasmin Tonon's most recent match resulted in 11 kills against Molloy (Sept. 12).

Poehlein recently tied a personal best when she put away 23 kills against D'Youville (Sept. 12). Katelyn Rutledge set her personal best with 15 kills in that same match.

After opening the season at home in August, Bentley finally returns to the Dana Athletic Center to host Bridgeport Tuesday, Sept. 22.
