WALHAM, Mass. – The Bentley volleyball team carries a nine-match winning streak into its non-conference match at Assumption Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m.
 
The turnaround
Bentley started the 2026 season with just one win in its first seven matches. Four of those seven contests were against nationally ranked teams. Since then, however, the Falcons have looked like the dominant program that fans have to come to expect. During its current winning streak, Bentley has pulled off four sweeps, and the Falcons played into a fifth set just once. Bentley's 3-1 non-conference win over Saint Anselm (Sept. 26) was the its 35^th consecutive victory over a regional opponent.
 
Diggin' the defense
The Falcons have held each of their last three opponents to a hitting percentage under .100. Bentley has 26 total blocks through those 11 sets (2.36).
 
Luzina the libero
Sasha Luzina is averaging 4.0 digs per set through the past five matches. She had a season-high 18 digs against Monroe (Sept. 15), which was one dig shy of tying her career high.
 
The new kid from New Boston          
Freshman middle blocker Aaliyah Price Gooden leads the NE10 in blocks per set by a wide margin. The New Boston, N.H. native averages 1.17 blocks per set, and the next best mark in the conference is 1.04.
 
Ace in the hole
Bentley has served up 38 aces in it last three matches (3.45 per set). During that stretch, Sasha Luzina has nine aces, Lauren Hallas has six, and Tory Vitko has five. Bentley totaled 17 aces against Bridgeport last week (Sept. 22) – its most in a match since Sept. 2023.
 
Poehlein pullin' up
Sophia Poehlein is coming into her own as she has put away double-digit kills in each of the last three matches. During that stretch, she is averaging 3.36 kills per set.
 
Scouting Assumption (3-10)
The Greyhounds opened the season with nine consecutive losses, three of their last four matches have been 3-0 wins. Kaitlyn Montgomery ranks third in the NE10 for blocks per set (1.02), and Makenna Glenn ranks third for aces per set (0.59). As a team, Assumption leads the NE10 in blocks per set (2.14).
