BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Senior wide receiver
Peter Bibby III set career highs with eight catches for 83 yards, but the Bentley football team opened its 2026 season with a 38-3 loss at No. 1 Ferris State Friday night.
Bibby entered this season with five career catches for 43 yards. He had three receptions for 31 yards in the first half against the Bulldogs. Bibby added three catches for 34 yards in the fourth quarter.
Graduate transfer running back
Mason Andrade made his Bentley debut with 136 yards of total offense. He carried the ball nine times for 94 yards, and he finished the game with four catches for 42 yards. Andrade had a big 40-yard carry that ultimately set up a 30-yard field goal by
Peter Vafiadis early in the second quarter.
Luke Warnock, the reigning Northeast 10 Rookie of the Year, completed 27 passes on 46 attempts without throwing an interception. The Falcons totaled 381 yards of offense against the nation's top ranked team, and they turned the ball over only once.
Braeden Smith and
Caleb Procaccini both totaled 14 tackles for the Falcon defense.
Santi Quiceno came up with an interception in the first quarter, and
Tyler Lane intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter. Â
Despite the lopsided final score, the Falcons came away several small victories against the nation's top team. Bentley's next game is non-conference at Saint Anselm, Sept. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
