Box Score POSTDAM, N.Y. – Bentley University trailed 3-0 entering
the third period, but scored three unanswered goals in the final
frame to earn a 3-3 draw at Clarkson Saturday night in
non-conference hockey action.
Freshman Brett Gensler (St. Charles, Mo./Youngstown
Phantoms) scored his first collegiate goal just 45 seconds
into the third to get Bentley to within two goals.
Sophomore Brett Hartung (Tallahassee, Fla./Wichita Falls
Wildcats) followed up Gensler's goal less than four
minutes later to make it a one goal game with freshman
Jared Rickord (Skokie, Ill./Springfield Jr. Blues)
on the assist.
After that flurry of goals, Bentley waited until the
game's latter stages to tie it up, but did so when junior
Herbie Kent (Amesbury, Mass./The Governor's
Academy) found the back of the net with 3:39 to play.
Overtime did not yield any winners, but both teams had three
shots on net.
Junior goalie Kyle Rank (Islip, N.Y./Markham
Waxers) made 40 saves for Bentley, with 15 in the first
period and 17 in the third.
Bentley's record goes to 0-3-1 on the season, while
Clarkson goes to 3-2-1.
The Falcons complete their five-game road trip on Saturday at
Northeastern from Matthews Arena.
