WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley and Army West Point meet for the third time this season on Tuesday night before the Thanksgiving holiday. Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm at Tate Rink.
The Falcons stayed unbeaten in Atlantic Hockey with a 3-2 home win over RIT on Friday night. At 6-0-1, they are the only team in the league yet to lose a conference game. They are in second place with 19 points. Overall the team is 7-4-1 on the season. They again recevied votes in this week's USCHO top-20 poll.
Army is just 1-7-2 in AHA games after they were swept at home by Air Force over the weekend by scores of 6-3 and 3-2 (ot).
In Friday's win over RIT, freshman goalie
Lukas Swedin made 19 saves to win the fourth straight start to begin his NCAA career. Junior forward
Ryan Mansfield scored in his first game back this season in the first period to tie the game 1-1.
Defenseman
Colton Cameron scored his third goal of the season in the second period and
Michael Mesic netted the game-winner in the third frame, his fourth goal of the season and second game-winner.
These teams have already played twice this season in a home-and-home series on Nov. 7 and 9. The first game in Waltham ended in a 3-3 tie with Army winning the shootout. Two days later in West Point, the Falcons were victorious 3-2. Swedin made 20 saves in the win and goals were scored by
Chase Davis,
Oskar Bakkevig and
Owen Goodbrand.
Through 12 games this season, team captain
Stephen Castagna leads the squad in both assists (8) and points (12). Goodbrand leads the way with five goals.
Castagna, Mesic and
Dylan Cook each have four tallies so far.
Following Tuesday's game, the Falcons are back at home on Saturday against UNH for a 5:00 pm puck drop.
