WALTHAM, Mass. – The highly anticipated rematch of the 2025 Northeast 10 football championship game is in Worcester Saturday, Oct. 3, when Bentley kicks off at Assumption at 12 p.m.
The 2025 title game
Last year's scheduled head-to-head meeting between the Falcons and Greyhounds in November ended up being for the conference title. Bentley entered the contest with a 5-1 NE10 record, and Assumption was 6-0 in the conference. The Falcons pulled off a 20-17 win in front of the home crowd. As a result, the teams held identical 6-1 conference records, but Bentey earned the head-to-head tiebreaker. It was Bentley's first conference title since 2019. The Falcon defense held Assumption to just 57 rushing yards while forcing the Greyhounds into a couple of turnovers.
A tale of two halves
The Falcons (2-2, 0-1 NE10) lost at Franklin Pierce last week, 35-28 (Sept. 26). Bentley held a 21-7 lead at halftime, but the Ravens scored 14 points in both the third and fourth quarters to win it. Franklin Pierce's game-winning score was a 62-yard touchdown pass in the final 1:18 of regulation.
A magnet to the end zone
Tight end
Cooper Marcum caught a 35-yard touchdown pass at Franklin Pierce, marking his third consecutive game with a touchdown. He has five during that stretch. Marcum ranks third in the NE10 for receptions (20), fifth in receiving yards (263), and he's tied for the lead in touchdown receptions (5).
Bibby stays ballin'
Senior wide receiver
Peter Bibby III entered the season with five career receptions. Through four games in 2026, he ranks second in the NE10 for receptions (21) and fourth in receiving yards (266). Bibby caught his first career touchdown pass against Post (Sept. 19).
Telly totes the rock
Telly Edouard rushed for a season-high 87 yards at Franklin Pierce. He enters this weekend as the conference's third-leading rusher with 248 yards. Edouard led the Falcons in rushing yards last year (413). As a team so far this season, Bentley leads the NE10 in rushing yards per game (195.5).
Newcomers on defense
Graduate transfer
Caleb Procaccini and freshman
Braeden Smith are Bentley's top two tacklers through the first four games of the season. Procaccini's 36 tackles rank third in the NE10, and Smith ranks fourth with 28 tackles.
Air Warnock
Junior quarterback
Luke Warnock ranks third in the NE10 for total passing yards (916), and he's tied for second in passing touchdowns (10). He reached 300 passing yards (305) for the first time in his career at Saint Anselm (Sept. 12). Warnock has multiple touchdowns in each of the last three games.
Here comes the boom
Freshman
Henry Hughes is the conference's leading punter, averaging 44.8 yards per punt. His high so far this season is 61 yards, which he achieved against both Franklin Pierce (Sept. 26) and Post (Sept. 19).
It's up, it's good
Sophomore
Peter Vafiadis is the only NE10 kicker who hasn't missed a field goal attempt this season (min. 3 attempts). What's more, he's 17-for-17 in extra-point attempts.
Scouting Assumption (2-2, 1-0 NE10)
The Greyhounds opened their season with consecutive losses against nationally ranked teams: No. 3 Kutztown (56-35) and No. 23 Frostburg State (24-19). Since then, Assumption notched wins against Pace (34-27) and American International (37-14). Quarterback Dom Santiago has a conference-leading 11 touchdown passes, while Will McNamara is one of four conference players with a high of five touchdown catches. McNamara's 304 receiving yards this season ranks third in the NE10. Defensively, Assumption's 11 sacks rank third in the conference. Still, the Greyhounds allow the highest third-down conversion rate (46.3-percent) among all NE10 teams.
