Box Score 2 PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – #25 ranked Bentley collected 21 hits and 14 combined runs in a doubleheader split at Pace on Saturday. The Falcons dropped the first game 8-6 before rebounding with an 8-4 victory in game two.
Jared Berardino went 2-4 with three RBI and a home run in the game two win. Jake Matthews knocked in two runs.
Connor Gileau scattered six hits over six strong innings to earn the win.
The Falcons started fast and led 5-0 after the top of the first. A two run single by Matthews was the big hit in the inning.
Pace responded with three runs in their half of the inning but Berardino took the momentum back for the Falcons with a two-run homer in the 2
nd inning to make it a 7-3 game.
Gileau shut down the Setters the rest of the way as Bentley secured the win.
In the first game
Brendan Sencaj went 2-4 with two RBI and Pat Purcell and
Nick Pappas collected two hits.
The Falcons, ranked #25 in this week's NCBWA poll, visit Adelphi for a doubleheader tomorrow.
