WALTHAM, Mass. – Brendan Sencaj's historic on-field season for the Bentley baseball team now includes a historic academic honor. Sencaj was named to the Academic All-America Second Team, College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday. He is the only Northeast-10 baseball student-athlete to earn an Academic All-America honor this year, and he is the first Bentley baseball recipient of the honor since 1996 (Brian Hayes).
CSC Release
Sencaj was named the Northeast-10 Northeast Division Player of the Year in 2025. He also earned All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, and the D2 Conference Commissioners Association.
Sencaj's sophomore season culminated with several school records, including single-season records for hits (86), runs (62), and total bases (137). Sencaj also set single-game records for RBI (9) and total bases (15), while tying the single-game records for home runs (3) and extra-base hits (4) in a Bentley win over Georgian Court (March 11).
The Plainville, Mass. native finished the 2025 season with a .411 batting average, 11 home runs, 67 RBI, and a 1.148 OPS. Sencaj was a big reason why the 2025 Falcons finished with a program-record 33 wins (33-15).
