Kevin Lucey compiled a host of impressive numbers during his four years at Bentley. The ones that should draw the most attention are a 29-8-1 record as the Falcons' starting quarterback and a grade point average that was just under 3.5.

"Kevin was the consummate team player," said former Bentley football coach, Peter Yetten. "He was a true winner who made everyone else better."

The two-time Bentley offensive MVP threw for just under three miles during his career (5,260 yards) and 47 touchdowns while never missing a game. Those two records were among 20 that he held upon graduation.

Lucey covered two eras of Bentley football, playing his first two years at the club level, then quarterbacking the Falcons to winning seasons during the first two seasons of varsity football.

"Kevin certainly could have played at a higher level," commented Yetten, "but he came here and had an immediate impact". In fact, he threw 16 touchdown passes during a 9-1 freshman season, including three in two postseason games.

Upon conclusion of his career, Kevin received a special achievement award from the Eastern College Football Conference. "He had·a real impact on our entire league during its developmental period," said Yetten.

Even more impressive than his on-the-field performance was his achievements in the classroom. An accounting major, the Wakerfield, Massachusetts native never failed to make the Dean's List and was the 1990 recipient of the Edward J. Powers Scholar Athlete Award. Twice, he was named to the GTE Academic All-District 1 team.
