Bentley has had a number of outstanding quarterbacks over the years, but none threw for more yards and passed for more touchdowns than Marc Eddy, a lefty from Southboro who paired up with his high school teammate Dallas Mall to help Bentley to the 2003 and 2004 NCAA tournament.

Upon graduation, his 121 career touchdown passes ranked fifth in NCAA football history. With 10,579 career passing yards, he passed Doug Flutie for the New England record at the time. And his won-loss record, 37-6, was off the charts.

Just four games into his career, Marc threw six TD passes, including five to Mall in a wild 39-34 win over AIC. That included the game-winner with just 18 seconds left, finishing a five-play, 63-yard drive that took just 69 seconds. Marc culminated his career by throwing for a school record 504 yards, with 33 completions in 48 attempts during an NCAA playoff game against Edinboro.

Marc’s career included two Northeast-10 championships, in addition to the two NCAA playoff appearances. His list of accolades was lengthy and included the 2004 Agganis Award as the top senior football player in New England, two-time Zabilski Award winner as the top Division 2-3 Offensive Player in New England, two-time NE10 MVP, national finalist for the 2004 Harlon Hill Award and two-time ECAC Division II Player of the Year. In 2014, he was inducted into the Northeast-10 Hall of Fame.
