During the first quarter-century of Northeast-10 women’s lacrosse, only one student-athlete in Bentley University history was recognized as the conference’s Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year, Alyssa Ritchie in 2009.

Alyssa, a first-team All-Northeast-10 selection annually throughout her four seasons and a first-team Women’s Lacrosse Division II All-America as a senior, finished her career as Bentley’s all-time leader with 198 goals, 128 assists, 326 points and 89 caused turnovers.

Alyssa shattered the Bentley single season scoring record as a sophomore, with her 92 points bettering the previous mark by 27. Included were a school record 47 assists.

Two years later, she had a fantastic senior season as she put up the most productive offensive season in program history with 66 goals and 93 points. In all but three games, she scored at least three goals. Her contributions went beyond scoring as she led the team in both ground balls and forced turnovers as well.

The North Andover product concluded her career tied for the most points in Northeast-10 history and still is tied for fifth in conference annals today.
