Earning first-team All-Northeast 10 honors four consecutive years is almost unheard of. In the history of Bentley volleyball, which dates back to 1981, only one player has ever done it, 2010 graduate Alex Kearney Maher from 2006 to 2009. Tonight, we proudly honor the La Jolla, California native with induction into the Bentley Athletic Hall of Fame.

During her four seasons, Alex helped coach Sandy Hoffman’s Falcons reach the NCAA Division II tournament every year and compile an impressive 90-46 record, including 59-8 in regular season conference play. She became only the fourth player in program history to surpass both 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs, and her 1,455 career kills remains the most in Bentley history.

A model of consistency, Alex led the team in kills all four seasons, beginning with an extraordinary freshman campaign in which her 450 kills came within eight of the school record.

Her résumé includes four first-team All-Northeast-10 selections, two All-Region honors, and recognition as both the 2006 NE10 Rookie of the Year and the AVCA East Region Rookie of the Year.
