Bentley’s volleyball coach from 1982 until stepping down for health reasons before the 2014 season, and an assistant athletics director for nearly a quarter-century.
Put up a long and very courageous fight against a rare form of cancer before passing away on August 31, 2015.
2014 inductee into the American Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
In 32 seasons, led Bentley to a 758-366 record with her victory total the most in New England history and sixth best in Division II history.
Her tenure included 11 Northeast-10 regular season championships, nine NE-10 tournament titles and 11 NCAA Divison II regional bids, including a first-ever Sweet 16 appearance in 2005.
Selected as the Northeast-10 Coach of the Year eight times, most recently during her final season at the helm, 2013. Since that year, the award has been named in her honor.
There were 28 winning records in her final 31 seasons and her teams posted a winning percentage exceeding .600 22 times. In regular season conference play, her teams won better than 80 percent of the time.
