The induction of Marty Bricketto in 1996 continued to show how dominant the Bentley College men's basketball program was in the 1970s, as he became the sixth player from that era to be enshrined into the Bentley Hall of Fame.
Â
Marty, who began his career during the 1973-74 season, helped the team to a 70-34 record and three NCAA berths during his four years. He finished his career with 1,387 points in 104 games for an average of 13.3 points per game.
During his first two seasons, Marty played in every game but was frequently out of the spotlight because his teammates,

Brian Hammel, Tom Cockill and Al Grenfell, were garnering all of the accolades and leading the team in scoring. However, the 6-4 forward still scored 11.9 points per game as a freshman and 11.4 a contest as a sophomore.Â
“I was lucky enough to play with some great players my two years," said the Blackwood, N.J. product. "The relationship that I built with Tom, Brian and Al has given me

a lot of great memories of Bentley. We all still keep in touch."
Â
As a junior, Marty had his best statistical season, averaging 15.4 points per game, 7.9 rebounds per contest and 4.2 assists a game.
Â
His senior season was the only year the Falcons did not have a .500 record, finishing a game under at 12-13. Marty netted 15.2 points a game and added 6.5 rebounds per contest.
Â
As of 2025, Marty was one of just two players in program history with at least 1,300 points, 600 rebounds and 300 assists, a distinction he shares with Jason Westrol.
