The premier javelin thrower in Bentley history, Holt Sihvonen starred for the Falcons from 2015-18 after an outstanding career at Lyman Memorial High School in Connecticut.

It didn’t take long for Holt to make his mark at Bentley as he was chosen as the Northeast-10 Men’s Field Rookie of the Year as a freshman. That season, he earned the first of his four USTFCCCA Division II All-East awards, was the runner-up in the conference championships and placed fourth in the New Englands.

Holt captured the Northeast-10 championship both as a sophomore and as a senior, with his throw of 205 feet, two inches that season fifth best in conference history. All four seasons, he earned All-New England accolades.

Both of his final two seasons culminated with Holt competing in the NCAA Division II Championships. He earned second-team All-America honors as a junior in 2017 and followed that effort with another strong performance as a senior,

Holt broke the school record three times, with his career-best throw of 214 feet, 10 inches coming at Bryant in 2017. That same season, he became the first Bentley student-athlete to be recognized as the Northeast-10 Men’s Field Athlete of the Year.

Since graduation, Holt has been an assistant track coach at Milton Academy while working full-time in the human resources field.
