Hall of Fame
During the 2001 and 2002 seasons, Bentley volleyball amassed a combined record of 63-15 while sweeping through the Northeast-10 and earning NCAA Division II regional berths both years. Playing a leading role in that success was outside hitter Lauren Washington.
Â
What an amazing season Lauren had as a junior! After transitioning to becoming a fulltime outside hitter, she had 458 kills in 2002, a school record that still stands today. In addition to averaging 3.7 kills, she also contributed 4.5 digs a game with her total of 559 fifth most in program history, and in addition, provided 66 blocks and 39 aces.
Â
Lauren continued her outstanding play as a senior when Bentley finished 33-7, the program’s best over the last 30 years. Despite missing nine matches due to injury, she led the team in kills (3.5) and digs (4.3) while earning All-Conference and All-Region recognition.
Â
It was the third straight year that the Wayne, Pennsylvania native was selected to both the All-Northeast-10 and the AVCA Division II All-Region teams, a claim only a handful of Falcons can make.
Â
Lauren ranks in the top six in Bentley history in both kills and digs for a career with her totals in 391 games including 1,146 kills, 1,342 digs, 541 assists, 111 aces and 161 points.
