Paula Mullen served as the head coach of the women's basketball team for six seasons from 1978 to 1984. Following her stint as a coach, she served Bentley three more years assistant athletic director.
Â
In her six years as the coach of the women's basketball team, Mullen led the Falcons to a record of 108-42. She never experienced a losing season and went out with her best season in 1983-84, when the Falcons finished 26-3.
Â
Mullen's 1981-82, 1982-83 and 1983-84 teams each won or tied for the Northeast-8 Conference regular season championship. The first and last of those teams also won the NE-8 post-season tournament championship. Also, each of those three years culminated with an appearance in the NCAA Division Il Regional.
Â
Nine of Mullen's players, whom she coached for at least one season, have been inducted into the Bentley Hall of Fame.

"It's only right that my players were inducted before me," commented the two-time Northeast-8 Coach of the Year upon her 1996 induction. "l never played a minute. The recognition should go to the players, they are the people who won the games."
Â
While serving as assistant athletic director from 1984 to 1987, Paula was in charge of the physical education and intramural programs at Bentley. Her

tenure at the college also included serving as field hockey coach in 1978.
Â
"l will always remember the caliber of student-athletes at Bentley," Paula said. "They may not have been the best athletes, but they were always the toughest on the court and the competitiveness always seemed to make up the difference."
Â
Paula earned her Master's Degree in Business Administration from Bentley in 1987 and received her Doctorate Degree from Nova University in Florida in December 1996.
